The joint project of Košice IT Valley, Košice Self-Governing Region, Technical University of Košice and Innovation Centre of Košice Self-Governing Region opens the door to the fascinating world of information technology for students of grammar schools in eastern Slovakia.
The aim of the project is:
- To inspire a passion for IT: To show high school students how fun and rewarding it can be to study and work in the field of information technology.
- Gain practical experience: to give students the opportunity to work on real projects under the guidance of experienced mentors from companies and universities.
- Deepen programming knowledge: develop students’ programming skills and knowledge through workshops and one-to-one mentoring.
- Support the development of grammar schools: help grammar schools to build modern IT laboratories and to expand the range of IT education programmes.
Achievements:
- More than 200 high school students successfully completed their own IT projects.
- 15 new IT labs were built in high schools.
- 51 different IT projects were implemented.
- Each year, more than 150 students from TUKE and 100 students from grammar schools participate in the programme.
